Origin:
Lisianthus (Eustoma) is native to the dry prairies of North and South America, particularly the central and southern regions of the United States and Mexico.
Growth:
Lisianthus grows as a herbaceous plant and forms upright stems that can reach a height of up to 60 centimeters. The plants form a bushy, branched shape and can be compact or sprawling depending on the variety.
Leaves:
The leaves of Lisianthus are oval to lanceolate and have a shiny texture. They are usually dark green and grow along the stems in an opposite arrangement.
Blossom:
The flowers of Lisianthus are the plant's most distinctive feature. They resemble roses and come in a variety of colors including white, pink, purple, blue and yellow. The flowers can be single or double and often have an attractive wavy structure.
Location:
Lisianthus prefers sunny locations with well-drained soil. It thrives best in humus-rich soils that are regularly watered, but waterlogging should be avoided.
Care:
Lisianthus is a relatively easy plant to care for. It requires regular watering, especially during dry periods. Wilted inflorescences should be removed regularly to encourage the formation of new flowers.
