Origin:
Decorative chrysanthemums are a cultivated form of chrysanthemums (Chrysanthemum) that originated in East Asia but are now grown worldwide.
Growth:
Decorative chrysanthemums have an upright, bushy growth and can reach a height of 20 cm to over 100 cm, depending on the variety and growing conditions.
Leaves:
The leaves of decorative chrysanthemums are usually lanceolate and can have different shades of green depending on the variety and age of the plant. They are usually large and form a dense base.
Blossom:
Decorative chrysanthemums produce a variety of flowers in different shapes, sizes and colors. The flowers can be single, semi-double or double and range from white to yellow and orange to pink, red and purple. The flowering time varies depending on the variety and location, but is typically in late summer and autumn.
Location:
Decorative chrysanthemums prefer a sunny location with well-drained soil. They require at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day to develop their best flowers. They are relatively undemanding and can grow in a variety of soil types as long as the soil is well drained.
Care:
Decorative chrysanthemums require regular watering, especially during dry periods. Waterlogging should be avoided as this can lead to root rot. Regular fertilization during the growing season promotes healthy growth and abundant flowering. Wilted inflorescences should be removed regularly to encourage new buds to form, and plants can be cut back in the fall to prepare them for winter.
