Origin:
Chrysanthemums (Chrysanthemum) originally come from East Asia, particularly China and Japan. However, they are now grown worldwide and are popular in many cultures.
Growth:
Chrysanthemums have an upright habit and can reach a height of 30 cm to over 1 meter, depending on the variety and cultivation environment. They can be bushy or branchy.
Leaves:
The leaves of chrysanthemums are usually lanceolate or pinnate and can be green or gray-green depending on the variety and season.
Blossom:
Chrysanthemums produce a variety of flowers in different shapes and colors. The flowers can be single, semi-double or double and range from white to yellow and orange to pink, red and purple. The flowering period often extends from late summer to autumn.
Location:
Chrysanthemums grow best in a sunny location with well-drained soil. They require at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day to develop their best flowers. They are relatively undemanding and can grow in a variety of soil types as long as the soil is well drained.
Care:
Chrysanthemums require regular watering, especially during dry periods. Waterlogging should be avoided as this can lead to root rot. Regular fertilization during the growing season promotes healthy growth and abundant flowering. Withered flowers should be removed regularly to encourage new bud formation. In the fall, the plants can be cut back to maintain their shape and prepare for overwintering.
