Origin:
The pistachio (Pistacia) is a genus of plants native to the dry and semi-arid regions of southern Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia.
Leaves:
The leaves of the pistachio are leathery, pinnate and bright green in color. They are elongated with numerous small leaflets along the main vein.
Growth:
The pistachio tree is a medium-sized, evergreen tree with a dense, spreading crown. It can reach a height of up to 10 meters and spreads about the same distance.
Location:
Pistachio trees grow best in dry, warm climates with plenty of sunlight. They prefer well-drained soils and cannot tolerate waterlogging. These trees are also tolerant of saline soils and can grow in coastal areas.
Care:
Pistachio trees require regular watering throughout the growing season, especially during dry periods. They are relatively easy to care for once established, requiring only occasional pruning to maintain their shape. Protection from severe frosts is important when grown in colder climates.
