Origin:
Mimosa (Mimosa) is native to Australia, particularly in temperate regions. They belong to the genus Acacia and the legume family (Fabaceae).
Growth:
Mimosa plants are small to medium-sized trees or shrubs that typically reach a height of around 1 to 10 meters. They have a delicate, open growth habit and branchy branches.
Leaves:
The leaves of mimosa are pinnate and have a fine, fern-like texture. They are usually dark green and can have different shapes depending on the species.
Blossom:
The flowers of mimosa are spherical or raceme-like inflorescences that appear in bright shades of yellow, white or pink. They are often fragrant and attract many pollinators.
Location:
Mimosa prefers sunny to partially shaded locations with well-drained soil. They are relatively undemanding and can grow in a variety of soil types as long as they receive adequate moisture.
Care:
Mimosa plants require regular watering, especially during the growing season, to keep the soil moist. However, they should not be left standing in water as this can cause root rot. Annual pruning in spring promotes healthy growth and flower formation. Mimosa plants are also sensitive to frost and should be protected in colder regions.
