Origin:
Lady's mantle (Alchemilla) is native to Europe and parts of Asia and occurs in a variety of regions, from meadows and forests to mountainous regions.
Growth:
Lady's mantle forms dense, low pads and often spreads through runners. The plant reaches a height of around 20 to 30 centimeters.
Leaves:
The leaves of lady's mantle are the plant's most distinctive feature. They are rounded, slightly toothed and have a soft, furry texture. The leaves tend to catch raindrops, creating an attractive pearlescent effect.
Blossom:
Lady's Mantle produces delicate yellow flowers in early summer that appear in dense, umbrella-shaped inflorescences. The flowers are not particularly showy, but they attract pollinators such as bees.
Location:
Lady's mantle prefers partially shaded to sunny locations with well-drained soil. It also thrives in partial shade, especially in warmer climates. The plant is tolerant of different soil types as long as the soil is not too dry.
Care:
Lady's mantle is an easy-care plant that requires little care. It only requires occasional watering, especially during long dry periods. Wilted inflorescences can be removed to encourage the formation of new buds, and old leaves can be cut back in spring to improve the plant's appearance.
