Origin:
Hydrangeas (Hydrangea) originally come from East Asia, particularly China and Japan. They belong to the genus Hydrangea and the hydrangea family (Hydrangeaceae).
Growth:
Depending on the species, hydrangeas can grow as shrubs or small trees. They typically reach a height of 1 to 3 meters, depending on the variety and growing conditions.
Leaves:
The leaves of hydrangeas are often large, oval, and have an attractive texture. Depending on the species and variety, they can have different shades of green and often develop beautiful autumn colors in autumn.
Blossom:
Hydrangeas are known for their showy flowers, which are arranged in large, spherical or flat inflorescences. The flowers can be a variety of colors including white, pink, blue and purple. The color of the flowers may vary depending on soil pH.
Location:
Hydrangeas prefer partially shaded to shady locations with well-drained soil. They thrive best in humus-rich soil that is moist but not too wet. Some varieties can also thrive in sunnier locations, especially if the soil is sufficiently moist.
Care:
Hydrangea care includes regular watering, especially during dry periods, and occasional fertilization during the growing season. Wilted inflorescences should be removed regularly to encourage the formation of new buds. In regions with cold winters, hydrangeas may require frost protection to protect their delicate buds.
