Origin:
Daisies (Leucanthemum) are native to Europe, North America and parts of Asia. They belong to the genus Leucanthemum and the Asteraceae family.
Growth:
Daisies grow as perennial herbaceous plants and form low, bushy clumps. They usually reach a height of 30 to 60 centimeters, depending on the variety.
Leaves:
The leaves of daisies are lanceolate to oval and have a dark green color. They grow on the stem in a basal rosette and are usually hairy.
Blossom:
The most striking features of daisies are their bright white petals and yellow center. They bloom from spring to summer and are often strongly scented. There are also varieties with pink or yellow flowers.
Location:
Daisies prefer sunny locations with well-drained soil. However, they also thrive in slightly shaded areas. They are relatively undemanding and can grow in different soil types.
Care:
Daisies are easy-care plants. They require regular watering, especially during dry periods, but they can tolerate short-term drought.
