Origin:

Aralias (Aralia spp.) are native to various parts of the world, including East Asia, North America and South America.

Growth:

The growth habit of Aralias can vary depending on the species. Some species are small shrubs while others can become large trees. They tend to grow bushy and often have an irregular shape.

Leaves:

The leaves of Aralia are typically large and palmate or pinnate. Depending on the species, they can have a dark green, shiny upper side and a lighter underside.

Blossom:

Aralias often produce small, inconspicuous flowers in umbels or panicles. The flowers can be white or cream and are not always showy.

Location:

Aralias thrive best in a location with bright to partial shade. Some varieties can also grow in shade, but they tend to be less lush. They prefer well-drained soil and need protection from strong winds.

Care:

Aralias require regular watering, but waterlogging should be avoided as this can lead to root rot. They should also be fertilized regularly to promote healthy growth. Occasional pruning may be necessary to control shape or remove dead branches. Some Aralia species are sensitive to frost and may need to be overwintered indoors in cold regions.
