Origin:

Allium plants are native to Eurasia and North America and are common in many regions of the world.

Growth:

The growth of allium plants varies depending on the species, but generally they grow from bulbs planted either individually or in groups. Height also varies, from low varieties to tall, impressive inflorescences.

Leaves:

The leaves of Allium plants are typically elongated and narrow. They grow from the bulb base and often form a rosette of foliage.

Blossom:

Allium plants produce showy inflorescences of various shapes and colors depending on the species. These inflorescences can be spherical, bell-shaped, or star-shaped and range from white to pink to various shades of blue and purple.

Location:

Allium plants grow best in sunny locations with well-drained soil. They are relatively undemanding and can grow in a variety of soil types as long as the soil is well drained.

Care:

Allium plants require little care. They should be watered regularly, especially during the growing season, but waterlogging should be avoided. A layer of organic mulch can help retain moisture and suppress weeds. After flowering, the dried inflorescences can be removed, but the foliage should be left to strengthen the bulbs for the next season. The bulbs can also be divided and replanted every few years to maintain the plant's vigor.
